Adding to a high-octane weekend at the 2026 Heritage Invitational and celebrating Charlotte Motor Speedway’s historic place in motorsports, officials announced today that Vintage Indy will make its inaugural appearance at the prestigious Ten Tenths Motor Club on April 10, 2026. This marks the series' first event in North Carolina, expanding its reach beyond previous venues such as M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, and the American Speed Festival.

As a companion to IndyCar®, Vintage Indy has completed eight successful years of on-track exhibitions, featuring 20–30-minute spirited lap sessions that showcase the rich history of open-wheel racing. These exhibitions offer fans a rare opportunity to witness up to seven decades of IndyCar® evolution, with vehicles spanning from the 1930s through the 1990s.

“To paraphrase Steve McQueen, ‘Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting,’” said Vintage Indy Founder and President Mike Lashmett. “Indy can’t wait to participate in the Heritage Invitational and is very excited about visiting Ten Tenths.”

What else is happening at The Heritage Invitational:

The 2026 weekend will feature a diverse lineup of attractions, including:

  • Historic IROC Racing: The International Race of Champions (IROC) Series makes its East Coast debut at Ten Tenths Motor Club, with legends such as Mark Martin, Ken Schrader and Bobby Labonte headlining the event.
  • RADwood: A celebration of '80s and '90s automotive culture, RADwood brings together enthusiasts of retro cars, fashion and music, including a special racing-themed assemblage from the collection of Bill Rhine.
  • World-Class Concours: A curated showcase of 100 rare and sought-after automobiles from the world's top collectors, paying tribute to the history and artistry of all things automotive.

Vintage Indy's participation adds another layer of excitement to an already stellar lineup. Fans can look forward to seeing legendary drivers such as Al Unser Jr., who has served as the series' brand ambassador and pace car driver for the past six years. Unser Jr. is scheduled to be behind the wheel of Vintage Indy’s stunning Dallara EXP Pace Car, offering VIP ride-alongs to select guests. Additional notables expected, including Donnie Beechler and Johnny Parsons Jr., are expected to join the event, with efforts underway to secure appearances by other Indy 500 veterans.
